The Police Regional Office 11 (PRO 11) continues to monitor reports on the possible presence of Senator Ronald “Bato” dela Rosa in the Davao Region, while the Philippine Army’s 10th Infantry Division (10th ID) remains ready to assist law enforcement agencies when authorized.
PRO 11 spokesperson Major Catherine Dela Rey said on Wednesday that police had yet to receive verified information confirming that Dela Rosa was in the region.
“Pag tanungin naman dito sa Region 11, so far wala namang movement. Monitoring lang sa amin kung nandito ba si Sir Bato. So far, negative naman po,” Dela Rey said during the Davao Peace and Security Press Corps briefing at The Royal Mandaya Hotel.
She said police were continuing to monitor developments but had not recorded any activity indicating the senator’s presence in the region.
Meanwhile, 10th ID spokesperson Major Ruben Gadut said the military had received no standing directive, order, or request to assist in an operation specifically involving Dela Rosa.
Gadut said the military would not draw conclusions from unverified reports, adding that there was no confirmed information requiring its involvement in any operation concerning the senator.
“Sa ngayon, wala namang standing directives or order or request,” Gadut said.
He also said the military could not confirm whether any unit under the 10th ID would be involved in a possible operation related to Dela Rosa.
“And hindi ko pa mapagbigyan ng statement sa mga speculations. And we are not also sure kung 10IB ba ay may involve,” he said.
Gadut emphasized that the Philippine National Police (PNP) remains the lead agency in law enforcement operations, while the military provides support when necessary and in accordance with existing laws.
Such assistance may include intelligence gathering, logistical support, joint checkpoints, and other activities coordinated with authorized government agencies.
He cited the 10th ID’s involvement in joint operations involving mining-related concerns and the Bureau of Immigration as examples of military support for civilian authorities.
Gadut reiterated that the division had received no specific instruction to participate in any operation related to Dela Rosa.
