Ascenda, Ayala Land’s 204-hectare estate in Toril, Davao City, developed in partnership with Anflocor, has welcomed its first business locator with the opening of McDonald’s Ascenda along Maharlika Highway.
The new store marks an initial milestone for the estate as it begins to introduce everyday conveniences for residents, workers, motorists, and nearby communities in Davao City’s southern district.
McDonald’s Ascenda is the brand’s 24th store in Davao City and its second branch in Toril, reinforcing its presence in what is seen as an emerging growth area.
“We are pleased to welcome McDonald’s as Ascenda’s first business locator. This opening is a meaningful first step in building a more complete and convenient community for Toril,” said Gale Evaristo, Mindanao estate manager for Ayala Land Estates.
The store features McDonald’s latest design and innovation under its “Green & Good” initiative, which promotes more sustainable restaurant operations. These include the use of eco-panels, ultra-low-flow water fixtures, motion and photo sensors, LED lighting, and energy-efficient cooling systems such as VRF and inverter air-conditioning units.
Beyond its environmental features, the store also supports inclusive employment practices, including opportunities for senior citizens to be part of its workforce.

For Ascenda, the opening comes as Toril continues to gain attention as a next growth center in Davao City. Improving connectivity and major infrastructure projects such as the Davao Bypass Road and Davao Coastal Road are expected to further strengthen access to the area and support new opportunities for communities and businesses in the city’s south.
With its first locator now in place, Ascenda takes an early step in bringing more commercial offerings closer to the Toril community, while supporting the area’s role in Davao City’s expanding urban development.
