PDEA 11 dismantles drug den in Lupon; 3 suspects arrested

Three individuals were arrested after operatives of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency Regional Office XI (PDEA 11) dismantled an alleged drug den during a buy-bust operation in Purok Manga, Barangay Macangao, Lupon, Davao Oriental, on Thursday night, July 9.

The operation was carried out by the PDEA Davao Oriental Provincial Office in coordination with the Davao Oriental Police Mobile Force Company, Lupon Municipal Police Station, the Regional Intelligence Unit–Provincial Intelligence Team Davao Oriental, and the Coast Guard Intelligence Southeastern Mindanao.

Authorities identified the alleged drug den maintainer only by the alias “Naldo,” who was arrested after allegedly selling a sachet of suspected shabu worth P1,000 to an undercover PDEA operative.

Also taken into custody were an alleged drug den employee, alias “Jol,” and an alleged visitor, alias “Cathy.”

Recovered during the operation were approximately 11 grams of suspected shabu with an estimated street value of P74,800, around 50 grams of suspected marijuana valued at P6,000, several drug paraphernalia, and the marked buy-bust money.

The three suspects will face charges for violating Republic Act No. 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, as amended.
