A motorcycle rider was killed while a driver was taken into police custody following a four-vehicle collision along C.P. Garcia Highway near the National Housing Authority in Buhangin, Davao City, on Tuesday, September 15, 2026.
Police identified the driver as alias “Clark,” a resident of Purok Sta. Lucia, Agdao, Davao City. He is facing a complaint for reckless imprudence resulting in homicide.
The crash occurred along the Buhangin Diversion Road and involved a black-and-blue Honda Wave motorcycle without a plate number, a red Toyota Vios taxi, a Suzuki minivan, and a wing van truck.
Initial police investigation showed that the motorcycle, minivan and wing van were traveling south toward Maa, while the taxi was heading north toward Panacan.
Upon reaching the area, the wing van allegedly struck the motorcycle with its front portion. The impact sent the motorcycle into the rear-left portion of the taxi and then the rear of the minivan.
A 911 emergency responder declared the motorcycle rider lifeless at the scene. The other vehicles sustained damage of undetermined value.
Police said alias “Clark” was informed of his constitutional rights and the nature of his arrest in a dialect he understood. He opted to remain silent.
He was brought to the Buhangin Police Station for proper disposition as police prepared the appropriate case for filing.
