PDEA 11, PNP bust drug den in Mati City; 4 suspects nabbed

A joint anti-drug operation led by the Davao Oriental Provincial Office of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency Regional Office 11 (PDEA RO11), in coordination with the Police Regional Office XI Intelligence Unit, Davao Oriental Police Provincial Office, Philippine National Police Maritime Group, and the Mati City Police Station, resulted in the dismantling of a drug den and the arrest of four drug suspects in Purok Centro, Barangay Matiao, Mati City, Davao Oriental.

The buy-bust operation was carried out at around 11:15 p.m. on July 30, 2026, culminating in the arrest of the alleged drug den maintainer, identified only as alias “Jek-Jek,” after he reportedly sold one sachet of suspected shabu worth P1,000 to a PDEA operative who acted as the poseur-buyer.

Also apprehended were the alleged drug den employee, alias “Tata,” and two alleged drug den visitors, identified only as aliases “Den-Den” and “Ep-Ep.”

Authorities recovered five sachets of suspected shabu of varying sizes, with an estimated combined weight of approximately 25 grams and an estimated standard drug price of P170,000. Also seized were assorted drug paraphernalia and the marked buy-bust money used in the operation.

The four suspects are now under the custody of PDEA and will be charged for violating Republic Act No. 9165, otherwise known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, as amended.
