MinDA advances Mindanao’s global infra partnerships at IIICF 2026 in Macao

The Mindanao Development Authority (MinDA), led by Secretary Leo Tereso A. Magno, began high level engagements at the 17th International Infrastructure Investment and Construction Forum (IIICF) to promote investments, build partnerships, and position Mindanao as a hub for sustainable infrastructure and economic growth.

With more than 70 country representatives in attendance, the gathering gives Mindanao a chance to be represented in global discussions on infrastructure, connectivity, and sustainable economic growth.

Taking a central role in the forum’s global discussions was the critical importance of Public-Private Partnerships (PPPs) in addressing modern development demands.

Secretary Magno underscored that this global consensus directly validates the strategic direction of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.’s administration, which prioritizes PPPs to fast-track regional infrastructure modernization and the “Building a Better Mindanao” campaign.

“We are not just here to listen; we are here to put Mindanao on the global map and bring home concrete, innovative solutions,” Secretary Magno stated.

“The global infrastructure landscape is shifting toward climate resilience, digital transformation, and smart technologies. The insights and linkages we secure here will directly translate into stronger, investment-ready projects under the Mindanao Agenda 2023-2028.”

President Marcos Jr. has consistently positioned PPPs as the cornerstone of the nation’s economic strategy, recognizing that private sector expertise and capital are vital to executing high-impact projects.

By pursuing these joint ventures, the Marcos administration ensures that Mindanao’s development pipeline remains robust, well-funded, and swiftly executed without solely relying on state resources.

Forum discussions also highlighted the mobilization of private capital and technical expertise in priority sectors such as renewable energy transition, modern transportation and logistics, digital connectivity, and disaster-resilient infrastructure.

MinDA is reinforcing its institutional capacity to attract global investors by integrating advanced financing models and technological frameworks showcased at IIICF.

The strategic linkages forged in Macao are expected to accelerate the delivery of transformative infrastructure projects, ensuring that Mindanao not only keeps pace but emerges as a leader in sustainable regional development.
