Police arrested a 23-year-old woman identified as a city-level high-value individual (HVI) and seized suspected shabu valued at P748,000 during a buy-bust operation in Bucana, Davao City, early Thursday morning.
The suspect, identified as alias “Lovely,” was arrested at around 6:27 a.m. on Friday, February 6, 2026, in Purok 1, Bucana, Barangay 76-A. Authorities said the suspect, a married and unemployed resident of the area, was the target of a coordinated anti-illegal drug operation.
The operation was carried out by personnel of the City Drug Enforcement Unit (CDEU) led by PLt. Joel D. Lucero Jr., under the direct supervision of PLt. Col. Randy P. Sambalod, with support from the Regional Police Drug Enforcement Unit 11 (RPDEU 11), Criminal Investigation Unit (CIU), 1st and 2nd City Mobile Force Companies (CMFC), and the Sta. Ana Police Station. The operation was conducted in coordination with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) under coordination number 12-00-02062026-013.
Police said the buy-bust resulted in the seizure of one heat-sealed plastic sachet containing a white crystalline substance believed to be shabu, identified as the object of sale, and two large heat-sealed sachets of suspected shabu marked as objects of possession.
Authorities also recovered a P1,000 pre-marked buy-bust bill with eight machine copies, two P100 bills, an iPhone mobile phone, and a rechargeable shaver box, which were believed to have been used in the illegal drug trade.
All confiscated items were properly marked, photographed, and inventoried at the place of arrest in the presence of the suspect and mandatory witnesses, in compliance with legal procedures.
Emani will face charges for violation of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, and remains under police custody pending further investigation and inquest proceedings.
Police authorities reaffirmed their commitment to intensifying anti-illegal drug operations and called on the public to continue supporting law enforcement efforts in maintaining community safety.
