Authorities arrested a 36-year-old woman in a buy-bust operation that led to the confiscation of suspected illegal drugs worth P136,000 late Tuesday afternoon, April 14, 2026.
The suspect, known by her alias “Kuting,” was apprehended at around 5:42 p.m. in Isla Verde, Barangay 23-C, Davao City.
The operation was spearheaded by the City Drug Enforcement Unit (CDEU) and carried out in close coordination with the Regional Police Drug Enforcement Unit 11 (RPDEU 11), the 1st and 2nd City Mobile Force Companies, and the Sta. Ana Police Station. It was conducted in coordination with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) 11.
During the operation, authorities confiscated two heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets containing a white crystalline substance suspected to be shabu. One sachet was identified as the buy-bust item, while the other was recovered as a possession item. Also seized were a marked P1,000 bill used in the transaction, 17 pieces of boodle money utilized in the operation, a Realme mobile phone, and a pouch bag believed to be used by the suspect.
Authorities estimated the total value of the confiscated suspected shabu at P136,000 based on the standard drug price.
The suspect is currently in police custody and is set to face charges for violating Republic Act 9165, also known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
Law enforcement officials reiterated their commitment to sustaining intensified anti-drug operations across Davao City, emphasizing their resolve to dismantle illegal drug networks and ensure the safety and security of communities.
