7-Eleven store in Digos City robbed

A 7-Eleven convenience store along Lim Street, Barangay Zone 3, Digos City, was robbed early Sunday morning, prompting authorities to launch a hot pursuit operation to apprehend the suspect.

According to the Digos City Police Station, a lone male suspect wearing a black jacket entered the store and threatened the employees at gunpoint. The suspect allegedly forced the two attendantsLeo Mart Bangi and Aris De Sabaila — into the storage room before carrying out the robbery.

Police investigation disclosed that the suspect later changed into one of the store’s uniforms, proceeded to the counter, and took an estimated P10,000 in cash from the store’s safety vault. The suspect then fled the scene aboard a green Honda Civic, heading toward the Balutakay area.

Responding personnel led by Police Major Honor Rey Hibaya, Intel Officer, were immediately dispatched to the location to verify the incident and conduct appropriate police action. Investigators are currently reviewing CCTV footage from the store and nearby establishments to identify the perpetrator.

In a statement, Police Lieutenant Colonel Peter Glenn D. Ipong, Acting Chief of Police, reaffirmed the Digos City Police Station’s commitment to public safety and swift justice.

“We will not rest until the suspect is brought to justice. We urge the public to remain vigilant and to report any information that may help resolve this case,” Lt. Col. Ipong said.

The Digos City Police continue to intensify their pursuit and are appealing to anyone with information to contact the station through its official hotline or report to the nearest police outpost.
