Eala reaches career-high No. 51 ahead of Hong Kong Open campaign

Filipina tennis star Alex Eala achieved a new milestone in her career, climbing to a career-high No. 51in the latest WTA world rankings ahead of her campaign at the Hong Kong Open.

Eala, 20, improved two spots from her previous rank of No. 53, providing a timely confidence boost as she enters the tournament. She will open her singles campaign tomorrow against World No. 79 Katie Boulter of Great Britain.

In doubles, Eala is partnering with Chan Hao-Ching of Chinese Taipei and will face the duo of Aliaksandra Sasnovich and Kamilla Rakhimova in their opening match.

The new ranking comes despite recent early exits in the Wuhan Open, Japan Open, and Guangzhou Open, where she bowed to Moyuka Uchijima, Tereza Valentova, and Claire Liu, respectively.

Eala continues to build momentum in her first full season on the WTA Tour, steadily rising through the ranks as she eyes a breakthrough title.
