Davao City’s tourism industry is fully prepared to accommodate the expected influx of visitors for this year’s Duaw Davao Festival, with more than 10,000 available rooms ready for guests and tourists.
During the launch of Duaw Davao 2026, Davao Tourism Association (DATA) President Nicole Bian Ledesma assured the public that the city’s accommodation sector is equipped to handle the anticipated increase in tourist arrivals throughout the festival season.
Ledesma said Davao City currently has around 10,000 to 11,000 room keys from accredited establishments alone, reflecting the city’s strong tourism infrastructure and readiness.
She added that the actual accommodation capacity is even higher when including alternative lodging options such as condominium rentals, apartments, and other privately managed stays that have become increasingly popular among travelers.
According to Ledesma, the city’s tourism stakeholders continue to work closely together to ensure that visitors enjoy a comfortable and convenient stay while exploring Davao City during the month-long celebration.
One of the major highlights of this year’s festival is the “Duaw Davao Big Big Sale,” a tourism-driven initiative that aims to boost local businesses while offering attractive discounts and promotional deals to both tourists and residents.
Ledesma said the private sector welcomed the city government’s support for the initiative, noting that it provides hotels, restaurants, travel agencies, transport services, spas, and wellness establishments with a larger platform to promote their services.
She emphasized that the promotional campaign is not only designed for tourists but also encourages Dabawenyos to rediscover the city through staycations, dining experiences, and local travel activities.
“We are very excited for the Duaw Davao Big Big Sale because it gives both visitors and locals the opportunity to experience what Davao has to offer through special promos and discounts,” Ledesma said.
The Duaw Davao Festival features a series of tourism, cultural, sports, lifestyle, and entertainment activities aimed at strengthening Davao City’s position as one of the country’s leading tourism destinations.
