Two barangays in the Davao Region have been officially declared drug-cleared following a validation session conducted by the Regional Oversight Committee on Barangay Drug Clearing Program (ROCBDC) on Thursday, November 13, 2025.
The committee, chaired by Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency 11 (PDEA 11) Regional Director Edgar Jubay, met at the Davao City Anti-Drug Abuse Council Conference Room at the Davao City Recreation Center in Davao City. Representatives from the Department of the Interior and Local Government (vice chair), Department of Health, Police Regional Office 11, and concerned local governments were present during the deliberations.
After completing all documentary and operational requirements mandated under Dangerous Drugs Board Regulation No. 4, Series of 2021, Barangay Mudiang in Davao City and Barangay Zone 1 in Sta. Cruz, Davao del Sur, were formally granted drug-cleared status effective November 13.
The committee likewise verified 15 barangays as drug-free and validated 159 barangays across the Davao Region for their sustained compliance with drug-clearing standards.
Local officials, including chiefs of police, Anti-Drug Abuse Council members, and barangay representatives, attended the activity and expressed their continued commitment to safeguarding their communities from illegal drug activities and ensuring the long-term sustainability of their drug-free status.
