The Davao City Police Office (DCPO) seized nearly P1.54 million worth of suspected illegal drugs and arrested three individuals, including a high-value target, during separate anti-drug operations conducted across Davao City on July 15 and 16.
The largest drug haul was recorded in an operation by the Ecoland Police Station on Wednesday, where two suspected drug peddlers were arrested and authorities confiscated suspected dried marijuana leaves valued at approximately P1.3 million.
In another operation on the same day, personnel from the Maa Police Station, working with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency Region 11 (PDEA 11), arrested a high-value target during a buy-bust operation in Purok 18, GEM Village, Barangay Maa.
Police recovered suspected shabu with an estimated street value of P140,080 from the suspect.
Meanwhile, on Thursday, operatives from the Calinan Police Station, backed by the 1st and 2nd City Mobile Force Companies and PDEA 11, arrested a street-level individual during an anti-illegal drug operation in Purok 25, Teacher’s Village, Barangay Calinan Poblacion.
Authorities seized around 14.66 grams of suspected shabu with an estimated value of P99,688.
According to the DCPO, the three operations led to the confiscation of illegal drugs with a combined estimated value of P1,539,768, underscoring the police office’s continuing efforts to intensify its campaign against illegal drugs.
DCPO Director Col. Peter Bauzon Madria commended the operating units for the successful operations, saying the accomplishments demonstrate the police force’s commitment to intelligence-driven anti-drug enforcement.
“I commend our operating units for their swift and successful operations. These accomplishments reflect the unwavering commitment of the Davao City Police Office to intensify intelligence-driven anti-illegal drug campaigns and keep Davao City safe and drug-free,” Madria said.
He also emphasized that sustained cooperation among the DCPO, PDEA, barangay officials, the local government, and the public remains essential in protecting communities from the dangers of illegal drugs.
“These achievements underscore the dedication of our personnel and the strong coordination among the DCPO, PDEA, barangay officials, the Local Government of Davao City, and vigilant citizens in protecting our communities from the threat of illegal drugs,” he added.
