A man was injured after being shot multiple times by unidentified suspects along the National Highway in Purok Gemelina, Barangay Kingking, Pantukan, on Thursday, June 25, 2026.
According to the Pantukan Municipal Police Station (MPS), authorities received a phone call from a concerned citizen at around 12:40 p.m. reporting a shooting incident in the area. Police personnel immediately responded to verify the report, conduct an investigation, and launch a hot pursuit operation against the perpetrators.
Initial investigation revealed that the victim sustained four gunshot wounds on different parts of his body. Police said the victim had just attended a graduation ceremony at Kolehiyo ng Pantukan and was about to board his minivan with his family when the attack occurred.
Investigators disclosed that the suspects arrived aboard a gray minivan without a license plate. Without any apparent provocation, the assailants repeatedly fired at the victim using what is believed to be a .45-caliber firearm before fleeing toward an unknown direction.
The victim was immediately transported to the Davao de Oro Provincial Hospital–Pantukan for medical treatment. Authorities reported that he is currently in stable condition.
Crime scene investigators recovered four spent cartridge cases and one fired bullet, all believed to have come from a .45-caliber firearm.
Police are continuing their investigation and have intensified hot pursuit operations to identify and apprehend the suspects. Authorities have yet to determine the motive behind the attack.
