A joint anti-drug operation in Mati City led to the arrest of a high-value target and the seizure of approximately 570 grams of suspected shabu, with an estimated street value of P3,876,000.
The operation was conducted at around 7 p.m. on Friday, May 8, 2026, at Bay Walk, Barangay Central, by operatives of the Davao Oriental Provincial Office of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency Regional Office 11 (PDEA RO 11), in close coordination with the Mati City Police Station and the Davao Oriental Police Provincial Office – Provincial Intelligence Unit.
Arrested was a 36-year-old suspect identified only by the alias “Crismar,” a resident of Panabo City. He was apprehended after allegedly selling one sachet of suspected shabu worth P5,000 to an undercover operative.
Confiscated from the suspect were 18 sachets containing suspected shabu in varying quantities, assorted drug paraphernalia, and the marked buy-bust money. Authorities also impounded the vehicle allegedly used in the illegal drug activity.
The suspect is currently under the custody of law enforcement authorities and is set to face charges for violation of Republic Act No. 9165, otherwise known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, as amended.
PDEA RO 11 Regional Director lawyer Benjamin Gaspi commended the operating units for their seamless coordination and steadfast commitment in the government’s intensified campaign against illegal drugs. He reaffirmed the agency’s resolve to continue strengthening inter-agency collaboration and sustaining aggressive anti-drug operations to help ensure safer and drug-free communities across the region.
