Two barangays in the Davao Region have officially been declared free from illegal drugs by the Regional Oversight Committee on the Barangay Drug Clearing Program (ROCBDC) during a ceremony held at the Bakhawan Resort and Event Center in the Island Garden City of Samal (IGaCoS), Davao del Norte on Tuesday, April 28, 2026.
The ROCBDC, chaired by PDEA Regional Office 11 Director lawyer Benjamin G. Gaspi, and co-chaired by the Department of the Interior and Local Government, includes members from the Department of Health, Police Regional Office 11, and concerned local government units.
Barangay Magnaga in Pantukan, Davao de Oro, and Barangay Miranda in IGaCoS, Davao del Norte, were recognized for successfully meeting all the requirements for drug clearing.
The declaration followed their full compliance with the documentary and operational standards outlined in Dangerous Drugs Board Regulation No. 4, Series of 2021.
In the same event, 778 barangays maintained their drug-cleared status, while 27 barangays were validated as drug-free.
Also in attendance were Chiefs of Police, members of the Anti-Drug Abuse Councils, and other key stakeholders, who reaffirmed their shared commitment to sustaining safe and drug-free communities.
