The Davao City Police Office (DCPO) announced the successful and peaceful conclusion of the 89th Araw ng Dabaw celebrations, with no major security incidents recorded throughout the month-long festivities.
Celebrated every March, Araw ng Dabaw commemorates the city’s founding and highlights its vibrant culture, unity, and steady progress. This year’s observance drew large crowds of Dabawenyos, visitors, and tourists who actively participated in a diverse lineup of cultural showcases, civic engagements, and entertainment events across the city.
The seamless and orderly conduct of the celebration was the result of meticulous planning, heightened security operations, and strong collaboration among key agencies, including the DCPO, Task Force Davao, Public Safety and Security Office (PSSO), Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), and various emergency response units. Thousands of personnel were deployed citywide to ensure safety, manage crowds effectively, and provide immediate response when needed.
PCOL Muarip underscored that the success of the event was a shared achievement—made possible not only by the efforts of law enforcement, but also by the discipline, vigilance, and cooperation of the Dabawenyo community, alongside the support of stakeholders, private partners, and visitors.
“The peaceful and orderly conduct of this year’s Araw ng Dabaw reflects the enduring culture of unity, discipline, and shared responsibility among Dabawenyos. This is a collective accomplishment we can all take pride in,” Colonel Mannan Muarip, DCPO Acting City Director, stated.
The DCPO also acknowledged the essential contributions of barangay officials, event organizers, volunteers, and the media in ensuring efficient coordination and timely public information dissemination throughout the festivities.
Anchored on the theme of unity and progress, the 89th Araw ng Dabaw once again showcased Davao City’s strength in community cooperation, resilience, and public safety—further affirming its standing as one of the country’s safest and most disciplined cities.
