Senator Christopher “Bong” Go continues to champion education and skills development through his steadfast support for programs helping open more doors to employment opportunities for Filipinos.
During the graduation ceremony of 95 scholars held at Adlawan Farms Corporation in Governor Generoso, Davao Oriental, on Friday, March 13, Go, through his son Lupon Vice Mayor Atty. Christian Lawrence “Chrence” Go, reaffirmed his commitment to technical-vocational education as a means of uplifting lives and fostering inclusive economic growth.
The graduates completed various Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) programs including Driving NC II with 20 scholars, Animal Production (Poultry Chicken) NC II with 25 scholars, Agroentrepreneurship NC II with 25 scholars, and Agricultural Crops Production NC II with 25 scholars, equipping them with practical skills that can lead to sustainable livelihood and employment opportunities.
“Sa pamamagitan ng TESDA at iba pang training institutions, marami na po tayong natulungang magkaroon ng hanapbuhay at pagkakataong maiangat ang kanilang buhay. Huwag kayong titigil sa inyong pangarap dahil ito ay simula pa lang ng mas magandang bukas para sa inyo,” he said.
Meanwhile, the graduates received snacks, shirts, pens, as well as basketballs and volleyballs from Go’s team. Selected participants received a watch, shoes, a jacket, and a cellphone.
To help more Filipinos attain better education, Senator Go highlighted his efforts in pushing for laws that promote accessible and quality learning. These include Republic Act No. 12077, or the Student Loan Payment Moratorium During Disasters and Emergencies Act, which he co-authored and co-sponsored to provide financial relief to students with outstanding loans during calamities.
He also co-authored and co-sponsored RA 11510, or the Institutionalization of the Alternative Learning System Act, which ensures access to education for out-of-school and disadvantaged youth.
“Tandaan natin, minsan lang tayo dadaan sa mundong ito. Kung ano pong kabutihan o tulong na pwede nating gawin sa ating kapwa ay gawin na natin ngayon dahil hindi na tayo babalik sa mundong ito,” he encouraged.
He also assured the public of his continued dedication to service, saying, “Ako ang inyong Senator Kuya Bong Go, patuloy na magseserbisyo sa inyong lahat dahil bisyo ko na ang magserbisyo at ako po ay naniniwala na ang serbisyo sa tao ay serbisyo po yan sa Diyos.”
Through his continued support for skills enhancement and educational initiatives, Senator Go continues to help pave the way for more Filipinos to access quality training and employment opportunities, ensuring a brighter and more prosperous future for
