Amid growing public outrage over alleged corruption in government projects, Senator Christopher Lawrence “Bong” Go called for truth and accountability to restore public trust in government.
Go expressed support for the public’s demand to hold accountable those behind the anomalous flood control projects, urging authorities to pursue the real masterminds.
“Labanan po natin ang korapsyon. Ikulong ang mga kurakot at mga magnanakaw. Ikulong ang mga buwaya at ang mga mastermind,” Go said during a press conference.
He warned against efforts to divert attention from the corruption issues, urging the Independent Commission for Infrastructure (ICI), Ombudsman, and DPWH to focus on uncovering the truth.
“’Wag ilihis ang isyu. Tumbukin ang katotohanan. Kapag inilihis ‘yan, mas gugulo ang bayan,” he cautioned.
Go also denounced what he called diversionary tactics meant to shift attention from the alleged systemic corruption within the government.
The senator concluded by reaffirming his commitment to transparency, saying,
“I am one with our countrymen in the fight against corruption. Dito lang tayo sa katotohanan—‘pag dun lang tayo, hindi tayo magkakamali,” he said.
