A notorious drug personality was arrested during a buy-bust operation conducted by the Matanao Municipal Police Station at around 9:10 p.m. on Friday, September 19, 2025, in Barangay San Jose, Matanao, Davao del Sur.
The operation was led by Deputy Chief of Police Cpt. Junrey Torres under the supervision of Officer-in-Charge Maj. Honor Rey Hibaya.
The suspect, identified only by the alias “AL,” a 33-year-old single male resident of Barangay San Jose, was apprehended after selling suspected illegal drugs to a police poseur buyer.
Confiscated from the suspect were three (3) heat-sealed sachets of suspected shabu, with an estimated street value of ₱3,000.
Charges for violation of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, will be filed against the suspect.
Hibaya reaffirmed the station’s commitment to intensifying the campaign against illegal drugs and urged the public to remain vigilant. He called on the community to immediately report any drug-related activities to local authorities so they can take swift action.
