Hospitality trends have incorporated art to create a more immersive and captivating atmosphere for visitors and clients, promoting a feeling of cultural enhancement.
With art exhibitions, hotels are transforming into destinations for art enthusiasts, drawing guests who desire unique and culturally enriching experiences.
In time for the celebration of Kadawayan Festival, Acacia Hotel Davao (AHD) brought “Kulay ng Sining” as a vibrant art initiative in collaboration with the Davao Art Kollective.
Now in its second year, this annual exhibition pays tribute to Davao’s rich cultural identity and flourishing art scene through a curated showcase of the region’s most notable artists—individuals who have not only graced countless exhibitions but have also become institutions in their respective mediums and advocacies.
“What began as a shared passion project has now grown into an annual celebration that brings together some of Davao’s most inspiring and creative artists,” said Daffodil Martinez-Bahani, Resident Manager of AHD.
This year’s lineup brings together fourteen exceptional artists: Bina Balchand, Trixie Borbon, Amanda Echevarria, Rene Gonzales, Warina Sushil Jukuy, John Luis, Ruby Jane Mascarifias-Lu, Noi Narciso, Lito Pepito, Paul Pepito, Banoi Reyno, Jong Tangiday, Josie Carriedo-Tionko, and Mark Tolentino.
From bold strokes to subtle shades, the artists and AHD let art enthusiasts and hotel guests elicit emotions and stimulate creativity.
“As we celebrate Kadayawan, this exhibit stands as our joyful tribute to Davao’s vibrant heritage and thriving creative spirit. Through the works of 14 exceptional artists, we witness stories of identity, memory, advocacy, and mastery-each one a reflection of the diverse talents shaping Davao’s cultural landscape,” Bahani said.
Kulay ng Sining Year 2 becomes more than just an exhibit but a festive celebration of Davao’s creativity and heritage.
Every canvas, sculpture, or mixed-media work in the exhibit pays tribute to the artists’ impacts on the cultural scenery of the city and the Davao Region, reflecting the essence of Kadayawan 2025, a vibrant celebration of life, identity, and community.
The exhibit will run until August 17 at the AHD lobby.
