Two suspected drug personalities were arrested in a buy-bust operation conducted early Wednesday morning, March 4, 2026, along Bypass Road in Pioneer Village, Barangay Buhangin Proper, Davao City.
Authorities identified the suspects as Samsodin, also known as “Mencho,” 43, a resident of Barangay 23-C, Davao City and Sammy, 47, a resident of Malibu Residence, Barangay Buhangin, Davao City.
The operation was carried out at around 2:10 a.m. by personnel of the City Drug Enforcement Unit (CDEU). The team was assisted by the Regional Police Drug Enforcement Unit 11 (RPDEU 11).
Also providing support were personnel from the 1st City Mobile Force Company (CMFC) and the 2nd CMFC, in coordination with the Buhangin Police Station. The operation was conducted with Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) coordination number 12-00-030332026-030.
Seized during the operation were one heat-sealed transparent plastic sachet containing white crystalline substance believed to be shabu, a black Toyota Hilux vehicle; and buy-bust money amounting to P55,000, consisting of one genuine P1,000 bill and 54 boodle money bills.
Authorities said the confiscated suspected shabu weighed approximately 21 grams, with an estimated Standard Drug Price of P142,800.
The suspects are facing charges for violation of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
